FLOW CYTOMETRY SPECIALIST: The Salk Insitute is seeking a Flow Cytometry
Specialist to be responsible for the operation and maintenance of a
Becton-Dickinson FACStar-plus cell sorter, a FACScan analytical cytometer,
and associated computer systems: Macintosh Quadra, Sun Microsystems
SPARC Station 2, Hewlett Packard Consort 32, and IBM PC clone. The
position will also involve consultation with investigators on experimental
design and the interpretation of flow cytometric data. The ideal candidate
will have one or more years of experience in the operation of a flow cytometry
facility, a strong background in computer science, and knowedge of fundamental
biology, biophysics and electronics. We are seeking a person who would be
challenged by dealing with a diversity of operational and experimental
problems in a small, primarily research oriented, flow cytometry facility.
