Potential Forum for Core Facility Managers...

Greetings all, from Boston!

Following on from the excellent (and long overdue!) ad hoc workshop for
Core Facilities' Managers, organised by Larry Seamer & Julie Auger, at
the recent ISAC XVII congress at Lake Placid, it has become apparent
increasingly that there may be a need for some kind of informal forum for
the exchange of information & ideas, advice, etc. for those of us
unfortunate (?) enough to run such central facilities for the benefit of
others. In this, I am not referring just to those in charge of monster
core facilities housing vast numbers of sophisticated instruments,
but to all those responsible for the provision of Flow facilities for
colleagues, et al., whether for free, for money, beer, or whatever.

The items dealt with during the above mentioned workshop have been
described here at a previous date, by the organisers, so I do not intend
to go over them again now.

The question is: Would there be any interest out there for such a forum,
what form might it take, what topics might it address, etc. etc.??? Peter
Lopez (Dana Faber, Boston, MA) has kindly offered his computer system as
potential host (thanks, Peter!), if required.

Comments, criticisms, suggestions, cash, wine, etc. welcome.
It's up to you now...
