The most simple and also cheap source is to prepare DiI-LDL in
your own lab. A paper describing the use of DiI-LDL in comparison
to 125I-LDL and an anti-LDL-receptor mAb was recently published
by our lab (G. Schmitz et al.: Arteriosclerosis and Thrombosis
13: 1053-1065, 1993). I am not aware of any specific advantage
of the use of Bodipy compared to DiI.
