Hi HLA Flow Cytometrists, I had posted this query fairly close to the U.S. Thanksgiving Day. Since CAPS/ASHI is an American external quality assurance program, I would like to post it again. The query is a follows: We have noticed in the CAPS/ASHI Flow Crossmatch surveys that 75% of the labs are diluting their serum and 25% uses it as neat serum. We were wondering ...1) what serum (or sera) is being used as negative control, 2) what diluent is being used, and 3)whether the negative control serum was also diluted as well. Thanks for your help. Regards, Vivian Wu Immunology Laboratory Vancouver General Hospital, B.C. Canada
