Dear Flower,

If I understand well you are in search of TrinitroPhenyl (TNP) to conjugate to
a protein.
Then I would suggest the activated form TrinitroPhenyl benzene Sulfonate
(TNBS), also named Picrylsulfonic acid . You can find it in Sigma , ref P2297.
In case you want to do immunological detection, you may appreciate to know that
there is a very high cross-reactivity of anti-DNP ( DinitroPhenyl ) antibodies
against TNP-coupled proteins (at least in my personnal (old) experience). Thus,
depending upon your objective, you may also envisage to conjugate your antigen
with DNP. Then you have many options for coupling DNP on amines (DNP-succinimide
see DNP-X-SE at Molecular Probes) or even may-be onto -SH moieties
(DNP-Cysteine in Sigma).
Hope that helps.

Objet : TNP conjugation

I'm in need of TNP to conjugate to an antigen, but I can't seem to
locate it in any of the major catalogs (Sigma, et al.). Could someone
point me to a company that sells hapten-grade TNP?

Thanks,

Tony
