Best protocol for yeast cell cycle?

Dear flowers,

A postdoc in our department wants to approach yeast cell cycle assessments via
flow cytometry. Has anyone tried several protocols and came up with a
favourite, reliable, easy to use etc.one? What is the preferred fluorochrome
used these days, PI, SYTOX? Thanks in advance.
