jobs and stuff....

Colleagues
Let me remind you that you can post jobs and positions to our jobs page
which you can see from our website....which I just noticed that had lost its
JOBS link...oops we will fix that today (send them to
jobs@flowcyt.cyto.purdue.edu)

In terms of discussing an individual infraction with another member, please
try to do that to the individual not the list (unless of course you want to get
lots of reactions). As the overall responsibility for management of this list, I
do contact individuals if I feel they have overstepped the mark. You might be
interested to know at least 3 individuals were removed from the list last year
for overtly breaching the trust of the site. So....we are trying hard.

best wishes

Easy on there Doctor Eckstein!!
This is an international list where we expect courtesy and forbearance at
all times.
There happen to be hundreds of Australian list members, residing both in
Australia and overseas.

This list is a legitimate and effective means for contacting them, as Elise has
done. There is no Australian FCM list, by the way, just an Immunology list,
but
you would not condemn us all to be immunologists would you?

Some overseas people even like to come here for holidays, and do a little
work at the same time.
I have met a lot of Germans doing just that, but they are usually civil.

You have tarnished your personal image and over such a trivial matter.
Shame really.

Hi Elise,

I am a little bit confused about your job offer. Be honest, do you really
think you can hire or attract a qualified flow operator from the
international community (were you posted it) for a term of 8 months??? I
don't think so.
2 years contracts are at least necessary to interest people from abroad. As I
know you have an AustralAsian flow society. Make your offers there. Our e-mail
boxes are daily overfilled with mails which has to be worked out. That takes
time. Sorry for my harsh words.

Regards
Volker

A part time position (3 days/week) is available in the flow lab at
Monash Medical School, Alfred Hospital, Melbourne, Australia for
approximately 8 months (maternity leave vacancy). The flow lab consists
of a BD FACScan, FACSCalibur and FACStar Plus.	The individual will be

Thanks
