Hello All,
I would like to ask those of you who are doing HIT
Assay by flow the following:
1. What do you use as reagent platelets? Various
articles indicated using PRP from fresh citrated blood
from a normal. Is there a way to avoid drawing a
normal with every batch of testing? We tried using
platelet segment from blood bank platelet packs
without much success, they appeared activated.
2. Is ABO compatibility a concern when adding patient
serum/plasma to normal platelets?
3. What do you use for positive controls? Calcium
ionophore, ADP?
Any suggestions or help will be much appreciated!
