Beverly - We do bill by the minute, believe it or not. We use a program called MacLogin to track usage. The time they log in and out determines what a user is billed. It is calculated in Excel in decimal hours. We have considered how we can bill for time scheduled vs that used in a fair way. That would prevent lost revenue when users are late and the instrument sits idle. During this time, other users will not use it because the schedule says it is unavailable! But we have not come up with a system that allows us to easily do that yet in a manner that we feel is fair.
