Ladies and Gentlemen-

The 2002 Cytometry Development Workshop will take place October 18-21 at
the beautiful Asilomar Conference Center in Pacific Grove, California.	The
workshop is held with the endorsement of the International Society for
Analytical Cytology (ISAC) and is the leading forum for focused discussion of
cytometric technology, both flow and image based. Further details and a
registration form are available from the web site at
http://murphylab.web.cmu.edu/CDW/. Howard Shapiro (hms@shapirolab.com) and I
will again be serving as organizers and moderators.

This e-mail is going to those who attended the Workshop last year, to some
others who have attended in the past, and to people we thought might be
interested in attending and/or sending a colleague or trainee.	This is not a
meeting for novices; it is a small gathering that allows free exchange of
information among people in academic, government, and industrial labs who are
actively involved in pushing the state of the art.

The Workshop attendees set the agenda by the topics that they choose to
present (see the web site), and we run at the pleasant slow pace of the
Automated Cytology Conferences of the 1970's, which preceded and catalyzed
the formation of what is now ISAC.

If you are interested in attending, please register (both with the
Conference Center and with the organizers) by July 10 since we need to
release unreserved rooms after that date. Please also encourage your
students to attend - there are student awards to cover the costs of housing and
food.

Sincerely,

Bob Murphy
