Dear colleagues,

The International Federation for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC)
intends to intensify ist educational activities also in the field of flow cytometry.

In accordance with this strategy a newly formed IFCC Steering Committee Flow Cytometry
Course, together with the University of Mainz and with the support of Beckman-Coulter,
organizes on an annual basis an "International Course on Clinical Applications of Flow
Cytometry". This year this event will focus on Clinical and Research Applications in
Hematology and Oncology and will take place from 31 May to 4 June 2002 in Mainz, Germany.

This event is split in two parts :

1/ Hands-on class, 31 May and 3-4 June 2002
In order to maintain the high level of the courses, the number of participants is
restricted to 48 people. Exercises will take place in small groups of 6 participants.

2/ Symposium on Recent Trends in Cellular Diagnostics in Hematology and Oncology,
June 1-2, 2002.

The main focus of the conference is the diagnosis of hematological and malignant
diseases. This event will give you the opportunity to discuss the possibilities,
limitations and the future of Flow Cytometry in these areas.
