Bob Zucker and I will be chairing (hosting - overseeing - refereeing) a workshop on the evening of Tuesday May 7 at ISAC. The title listed in the programme is "Optimization and Performance in Confocal Microscopy". We have, however, deliberately not defined a specific agenda. Rather, we would like to focus discussion around the controversial theme that "Confocal Microscopy is now a tool capable of deriving quantitative fluorescence information". Recent advances in hardware and software suggest that this notion may no longer be entirely fanciful. We invite all interested parties to come and contribute. This is a constituents workshop and we don't wish to limit discussion of any appropriate matter.
