Greetings, Can anyone tell me if VLA-4, CD36, and/or Annexin V are expressed sufficiently on human RBC/retics to be detected easily by flow cytometric analysis (we have a FACSVantage) using directly conjugated reagents or will we have to resort to indirect fluorescence? Perhaps influencing the choice of reagents is the fact that only small percentages (in the 2 to 5% range, I believe) will be positive. Also, are red cells unusually sticky for the reagents mentioned and therefore higher backgrounds more of a concern with the indirect procedures? Thanks for any information/thoughts.
