Just a reminder for flow-ers in the NIH area…

The NCI ETIB Flow lab will be having an NIH-wide hands-on workshop with the Guava Technologies personal flow cytometer on Thursday and Friday, April 11th and 12th. For the uninitiated, the Guava is a small two-color flow cytometer with a diode-pumped green laser (532 nm emission) that can do absolute counts and analyze cell viability and apoptosis using prepackaged kits, or potentially your own applications using PE-labeled reagents and far red DNA dyes. We will have the instrument set up in our lab on these two days for a “wet” workshop - feel free to bring by your cells to test out the system, or just stop by and see the thing. More information about the Guava system can be had at http://www.guavatechnologies.com.

The instrument will be available starting at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 11th in Building 10 room 12C121. If you are planning to bring cells, contact me by e-mail or at 5-6379 to arrange a time and necessary supplies.

Take care,

Bill Telford
