I wonder how many core facility managers are willing to take
responsibility for badly designed experiments with no controls and
published against their better advice.

I would recommend that flow data be not generated and passed on to
the investigator unless it was pre-agreed that the experiment design
meets some sort of criteria (controls, viability.. etc)
