Greetings All,

	The University of North Carolina Health Care System in Chapel Hill,
N.C. is recruiting for a Laboratory Medical Specialist for the Flow
Cytometry Laboratory.  This position serves as the technical expert and
consultant for a variety of individuals and groups.  The Laboratory Medical
Specialist develops, performs, reviews and interprets all clinical and
research assays.  The work schedule is Monday through Friday with call duty
every third week.  The Flow Cytometry Laboratory performs a variety of
clinical tests for the diagnosis and monitoring of acquired and inherited
immunodeficiencies, leukemias and lymphomas, bone marrow and stem cell CD34
enumeration, fetal hemoglobin detection, lymphocyte and neutrophil function
assays, monitoring immune reconstitution after transplantation and
monoclonal antibody drug therapy for transplant rejection.  The laboratory
is actively involved with the Advance Testing Laboratory of the AIDS
Clinical Trials Group with the evaluation of new clinical procedures and
operates a core facility for university and medical center researchers.

The position requires a BS/BA in biological sciences.  Preferred candidates
will have at least three years of Flow Cytometry experience and be
registered medical technologists (ASCP or NCA).  Strong background in
Hematology and/or Immunology is helpful.  Competitive salary, on call pay,
