Hi Bill

I've been using Fileguard and Fileguard Remote for several years now with few problems,
I use it to log the usage of two Caliburs and two scans. I now have people log in
under grants and do the billing once a month. The MACs do crash sometimes which may
be something to do with Fileguard but not more than once a day. Took me a while to
figure out how to get a text file into excel and process it into a usage chart but I
have it down now so that it takes about 15 minutes to do all 4 machines. There are a
few tricks to using the program but I like it.

Hi all
I am aware that this subject has come up numerous times, and I have
read the archives, but I still have questions about which type of software
people are using for recording and restricting users of flow cytometers. I
guess my biggest questions is: are they really compatable with the Mac
computers? I am afraid that by adding more software, I am going to make my
computer prone to crashing more, or being more 'buggy'. Unfortunately, my
current system for keeping track of users who access the facility after
hours doesn't let me discriminate between users who are using the instrument
and users who are coming in to sign up for time. (They get logged in, but
not logged out). Does BD suggest one program over another? Thanks for your
input
