Receptor toxicity?

Hello all.

Has anyone out there had the experience of a transfected-in surface receptor inducing
post-sort death?
Got a cell line which is just peachy for shoving in other, quasi-related surface
receptors, but it doesn't seem to like this one. The pre-sort viability is okay (>80%
even at high culture density), but after staining, washing, sorting, the viability
drops to less than 1%. Have verified that sort recovery is good by counting (oh,
my aching retinas), but the darn things just die.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Jason
