We defined the accuracy and precision of an internally calibrated single
platform method for the detection of residual WBC in:

Triulzi DJ, Meyer EM, Donnenberg AD. Leukocyte Subset Analysis of
Leukoreduced Platelet Components, Transfusion, 40:771-780, 2000.

I am currently working on a flow cytometric procedure for
counting residual WBC
in leuko-reduced blood bank products using
Beckton-Dickinson's Leucocount Kit. The
FDA mandated control material is normal assayed blood
diluted in leucoreduced whole
blood. I have had trouble with the high dilution (1:1000)
required to make the control.
I'm unable to get reproducibility. Two commercial companies
have also had problems
making an FDA approvable product. Anyone out there perform
this test and have any
		advice on obtaining acceptable controls??
