Marty, Molecular Probes has a kit for assessing cell cytotoxicity that is based on one of this reagents and PI. We have used it and is ok. I have submitted a proposal for a chapter in CPCy that include the protocols for assessing in vitro and in vivo killing assays. I encourage you to try. The only problem is that you should find the appropriated concentration for your cells but a simple titration test will be fine. I hope this will help you.
