WANTED:  EXPERIENCED FLOW CYTOMETER OPERATOR

Laboratory

LOCATION:     Health Science Campus of USC
POSITION:       Research Laboratory Specialist

JOB DUTIES:

     The successful candidate will split time between the flow
     cytometry (80%) and gene therapy (20%) laboratories. The
     duties include operating the MoFlo cytometer for multi-color
     analysis and sorting of mouse stem cell subsets. In addition,
     the operator will be responsible for all routine maintenance
     and quality control necessary to ensure quality results. A
     portion of the time will be dedicated to assisting in the
     development of new research protocols and preparation of
     experimental data for publication.

QUALIFICATIONS:

     2-5 years experience in flow cytometry. Expertise in operating
     the MoFlo flow cytometer preferred. However, an exceptionally
     qualified flow cytometrist may be trained in MoFlo operation.
     A BS in biological science is preferred but qualified
     experience in flow cytometry is of most importance. The
     candidate must be a highly motivated individual who can work
     independently with excellent organizational skills.

SALARY:

     Commensurate with experience/ negotiable
