Replacement of HDD on Bering

This is the question about legacy HP system for our FACScan/FACStar.

Our Bering Hard Disk connected to the HP9000/Consort system dose not
function. As replacement with old HP9153 works well, and as giving the
slight physical shock to the bare drive unit can get the Bering awake
several days, we thought the HDD part is the problem. The HDD is marked
as Quantum Pro Drive LPS on the surface and looks like ATA type HDD.

Do sombebody in flow land have the experience to replace this HDD?
Can we change the old HDD with the new fast HDD and install Consort
Lysis II system on the new HDD?

And, if impossible, can we get the new Bering?
I know www.bering.com, however, I could not get the some information
properly.
