Hallo David, I have a Mac G4 with OS9 for a FACSCalibur installed 3 months ago. The CellQuest version that BD sent already loaded on the Mac is 3.3. BD never mentioned the possibility of an update, so I don't know if what I've got is the latest version or not. It does run more or less fine, often it freezes if you tray to put too many pages in a document (the manual says you can go up to 20 but is not true on my computer), or too many dot plot/histogram in the same page. CellQuest is also not compatible with a CD in the CD drive (as previously reported by other people on this list). The major problem with the Mac G4 is that they split the hard in 4 blocks, then load all the programs in what they call "FACStation G4" which is the block with the smallest portion of memory allocated. That drives your FreeSpace checker mad and probably is responsible for the slow speed of CellQuest. It shouldn't be too difficult to fix. I know that people from BD monitor this list, it will be nice to have their comments. Cheers, Mara Dr. Mara S.L. Has BD released the update, or will earlier versions unofficially run under OS9? This would be only for analyzing data, not running a cytometer. David J.
