Yes there is such a method. Its based on PKH26 dye that is incorporated
stably into the membrane of cells. As cells proliferate in response to
stimulation, you get a reduction in the individual cell fluorescence. The
main advantage of this assay is that it can be combined with other
phenotypic markers to determine proliferation of individual subpopulation..
