coefficient of variation

Dear all,

We have a need to calculate the coefficient of variation of some
flow cytometry data however it is not in FCS format so we can't
load it into the standard packages.

It is in the form:

channel number1, count
channel number2, count
etc

Does anyone know of a software package that can calculate the cv
of such data for us? All advice hints and tips greatfully received as
the final year PhD student in question needs cv's for a pile of files
for her thesis.

On a related note, calculating cv's is very dependent on where you
place boundaries around the peak, any favourite peak picking
methods out there?

Cheers,

Haze
