Reading Cellquest files

I had a request for help from Yanhui Yang in China in analysing DNA histograms.

I suggested using WINMDI to create DNA histograms and then Cylchred to analyse them
(see below). However, he was unable to read his data files using WINMDI.

I have never had a problem reading BD files supplied to me by other people.
I do not have direct access to a Cellquest system to explore this directly.
Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Michael Ormerod

Dear Dr.Ormerod,

Thank you very much for your kindness and the information provided. I've downloaded
those free softwares and tried my data on them. But unfortunately, there was
something wrong when the downloaded software WinMDI reading my data files. It was
said that the files were not FCS files. Actually, the data were originally acquired
in Japan by a FACSCalibur FCM with a software of CellQuest running on Mac, and then
transfered into PC readable format for the reason that we do not have a Mac here. I
wonder if it is this transfermation cause the error in reading the files? If so, how
can I make the analyze feasible? I'll be very grateful if you would provide further
help.

Thanks again and sorry for the bother.

Best wishes

Sincerely,
Yanhui
