Mike:

I run CQ and have used the data files in WinMDI. From the Mac, I'll
copy the file(s) to an IBM disk and then take the disk over to the IBM
with WinMDI. For reasons already discussed, the transfer is
uni-directional (for all practical purposes). Once saved to an IBM
disk, the copied file can not be re-opened in CQ unless certain things
are done.

To the point: Occasionally, say 10-15% of the time, a file saved from
the Mac on an IBM disk will not open with WinMDI while other files on
the same disk open just fine. I "write it off" as just another nuisance
of saving and transporting data between platforms. I find that
re-copying the file to another disk solves the problem most of the
time. I have had rare exceptions and have had to copy the file a third
time. Another solution was that we do an initial archive to a unix
server from the Mac. There, both platforms can read the data with CQ on
the Mac and WinMDI on the IBM. Final archiving to CD-R is performed
only with the Mac, in this way, data can still be read by both
applications.

I hope this helps,
David
