Thomas Nebe sent me some relevant PNH information that was also very helpful. I am posting his response below: -----Original Message----- From: Nebe, Thomas C. However, as it is a severe diagnosis and almost made by flow and most often in a phase without clinical signs you need to be very careful. I guess you know the consequences of prevalence in terms of sensitivity and specificity of a test. I think your summary might be more confusing than helpful as it doesn?t point to the problems. CD14 is extremely difficult because of the problems to define monocytes. The redundancy and check of the different lineages is esp. important. You may look at our website to check the arguments: http://www.ma.uni-heidelberg.de/inst/ikc/pnhengl.htm We made our mistakes as well when we started but we learned esp. from the experts like Dr. Schrezenmeier.
