Dear All, I am looking into detecting giardia and cryptsporidium cysts and oocysts in environmental samples using flow cytometry. However, due to safety constraints, I need to inactivate the cysts and oocysts prior to running them through the cytometer. Does anyone have related experience in this area? What are the methods that are used to inactivate these parasites whilst inflicting minimum changes in them? Thank you.
