The 4th Kananaskis Workshop on Human Tumour Heterogeneity, is being held at The Lodge at Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada, Feb 18-21, 2000. These meetings are aimed at scientists, clinicians, and trainees who are interested in understanding the complexities of human cancers, studied from a broad systems approach at the cellular level, often using flow cytometry and image analysis techniques. The program covers both basic science, and analytical technology. The meeting format encourages critical debate, rather than extensively prepared formal lectures. An important feature are ad hoc data presentations, chaired by Nick Terry, in which participants are encouraged to show illustrative data sets pertinant to the conference goals. As at previous meetings, the program aims to be scientifically rigorous, but allows time for informal discussions within the context of out-of-doors activities. The Lodge at Kananaskis is an isolated location in the Canadian Rockies, about 90km for Calgary International Airport. There is no registration fee for this meeting. However, participants need to register on our web page, and are expected to contribute actively to the scientific content of the meeting. Accomodation and meals are approximately US$500 for the entire meeting, based on shared room accomodation.
