Dear Colleagues, this is a last reminder for those interested to participate in the ongoing 7th International Workshop on Human Leucocyte Differentiation Antigens (HLDA7). This time, the Workshop will also focus on human-animal cross-reactive antibodies. To do so, both antibodies to known human CD antigens as well as "pre-CD" candidates will be investigated not only on human target cells, but also on a wide variety of animal species. Likewise, anti-animal antibodies with proven cross-reactivity to human leucocytes cells shall be included as well. As a result of this effort, we aim to significantly expand the range of known CD molecules in quite a few animal species and provide a definitive map of human-animal cross-reactive antibody reagents. We also envisage to greatly advance our knowledge about the evolutionary conservation of antibody epitopes. We have now gathered scientists from all over the world to study (so far) a few more than ten different animal species. This last call is to invite interested researchers in the field that may not yet have heard of this effort in order to widen the scope of animal species covered. If you're interested to contribute by screening a few hundred antibodies (or less depending on your choice) using flow cytometry or immunohistochemistry on cells from a unique animal species that you have access to, this will be a very welcome addition to our list. After returning your screening data, you may receive further supplies of cross-reactive reagents for more detailed studies. To learn more about the workshop, check with the Oxford Workshop homepage at http://gryphon.jr2.ox.ac.uk/hlda7/htm/index.shtml CD Antibody Panels will be available from the CD Antigens Section and appropriate study proposals should also be registered at this website: http://www.mh-hannover.de/projekte/hlda7 We will close our STUDY submission for this part of the Workshop within 7 days from posting this notice, and due to the design of our Section protocol, there will be no late study submissions accepted. Period. You may however submit new or established CD ANTIBODIES until the very last minute and there is no deadline for the latter yet. Also, we don't recommend participating in the Workshop just as a cheap means to obtain a large number of precious reagents without doing any work; in such case your name and institution will appear adequately acknowledged in the final Workshop report. In case you know of a potentially interested colleague who does not receive this note, we'd appreciate your forwarding this email. If you have any questions, please let us know via email as soon as possible. Looking forward to seeing you at the Workshop Martin R.
