Patrica-

I am assuming, from what B-D suggested, that you will
use the PharRed (Cy7APC is the generic name) with APC.

Then, depending on which PMT position you will be using
for collecting Cy7APC, you will need either a short pass
or long pass beam splitter at 710 nm. The bandpass
filter 780/60 will work well for Cy7APC.

When you specify the beam splitter, you need to mention
that it will be mounted at a 45 degree angle. You may
need to purchase a beam splitter holder from BD if you
don't have an extra or one you can scavange.

We have ordered filters from Chroma Tecnology, also in
Vermont. Their phone # is 800-824-7662. Similar filters
that we have ordered have cost from $200 to $300 each.

For best results using Cy7APC it is necessary to have a
red sensitive PMT. The Hamamatsu R3896 have worked well
for us. I do not know what B-D supplies in their
instrument.

Good luck!
