The last (February 1999) issue of Archives of Pathol Lab Med has the
recommendations for analysis of M proteins. Quantitation of light chains
(and ratio of the 2 types) is not recommended (specifically discouraged).
For flow cytometry analysis of B cells there are criteria for considering
clonal excess but these are not valid for serum immunoglobulins.
