I certainly think this was a valuable study and hope that the oncologists
see it.

Happy new year.  The article that you mentioned is very interesting.
Based on these results we should all be doing S phase analysis and the
values are significant for prognosis of breast cancer.  I agree that when
comparing between patients, one must use the same lab and each lab should
establish its' own tertiles for prognosis.  I found the information on
background subtraction very interesting.  This mathematical manipulation
seems to be unnecessary and may actually introduce additional variability
in the assay.  This makes sense, since the settings for subtraction are
highly subjective.  However, I did not see a discussion of the effect
of variable background between different preparations from patients
with the same type of tumor.  It seems that this would also complicate
comparison and that is why we did the subtraction originally.
