We also have a lab tech who has approximately 25% dual CD4/CD8's. We did a
whole battery of other T cell markers on her, all of which were normal. She's
also presently in her early 30's, and also has a family history of hyper AND
hypo thyroidism. At this time, she herself has not been diagnosed with either
condition (yet). We have seen this phenotype on her ficolled cells as well as
on whole blood lysis preps. She has demonstrated this phenomenon for almost a
decade now, and so far, she seems to be fine ! There were even times when the
dual positives were in the 30-35 % range. I wonder if perhaps there is a link
between this phenotype and the thyroid ?
