Quantitative measurement of cell surface molecules

Hello fellow flowers,

I am deferring a request received for info (see below) that after a quick
scan of my references and methods texts reveals that I do not have any
literature on the quantitative measurement of cell markers by FCM, although
I know literature does exist, albeit from memory controversial. This was
discussed on this list a few months ago with Bob Ashcroft a primary
respondent, so I would appreciate your comments Bob, and any others to
forward back to my colleage.

Many thanks, Jeanette.

Ciao Jeanette!
How's it goin'? I'm still working om my paper - maybe every time
it get's a little bit better - but I'm so out of practice and trying to
find the exact references to back up some of my claims is proving to be
quite time consuming (you know those references that say "the sky is blue"
- try finding that one!!!!!!)
So I'm taking a little break and thought I might ask you a
question. Do you know how you can calculate the number of molecules on the
surface of a cell using flow? I'm sure it's been done by lots of people so
if it's easy we would like to do it. As you're the only person I know that
works with these machines I thought you might know where to look!
I've bags under my eyes from lack of sleep -and people don't
gesitate to tell me!!!!!
Oh well! back to the grindstone!
	Take care
	Ciao Ciao
	Bernadette xxxx
