>What is a good marker specific for phenotyping fibroblast from >cultures.? Jim, I'm glad you asked this one. I posed a similar question a few weeks ago and the only replies I got were "...if you find a good marker let me know". I have been reccomended by a pathologist to try vimentin (intermediate filament). Since this is intracellular, it is useless for my application so I have not tried it. You don't say what species your fibroblasts are or what cells you are trying to distinguish them from. If they are different species you could try a species-specific marker (eg MHC class I) ################################################################ From: Dr Richard Darley, Ph.D. LRF Differentiation Unit Department of Haematology (A7) University of Wales College of Medicine Heath Park Cardiff, CF4 4XN U.K. tel (+44) 12 22 74 34 85 or (+44) 12 22 74 45 24 Fax (+44) 12 22 74 45 23 e-mail: darley@cf.ac.uk
