Upgrade to Power PC

We have several Macintosh Quadras (on flow cytometers and analysis
stations) which we would like to upgrade to the Power PC.  Has anyone
had any experience doing this by adding a CPU and ram upgrade purchased
from BD?  How well does this type of upgrade work?
