Vg9 is the only functional member of the group II g variable genes of the gd T cell receptor. The IMMU 360 antibody stains 0.5 to 10% of PBL in normal blood, representing around 70% of circulating gd+ T cells. Therefore, Vg9 positive cells are the major population of circulating gd T cells. Vg9 is mainly associated with Vd2. The combination Vg9-Vd2gd T cells seems to recognize mycobacterial antigens. IMMU 360 may be used in flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation, Western blot and immunohistochemistry techniques.
