I have been using the In Situ Cell Death Apoptosis kit from Boehringer
Mannheim for a while now. It seems to work really well. For a
positive control I use 10 units of DNase 1 Amplification grade from
GibcoBRL (part# Y02050). I add the DNase after the cells have been
treated, fixed, and permeabilized. I have been getting approximate
85% positive population. I am using human granulocytes in this study,
but I do not believe DNase 1 is bias to certain DNA. Good luck!!!

NOTE: Apoptosis should always be verified by morphology according to
its cell type.
