ELITE, DEC Pathworks, and TCP/IP

Does anyone currently use a combination of Coulter ELITE analysis
software and DEC Pathworks over Token Ring with TCP/IP. We have
a client in another building running this combination. We can
connect to the network drive on our Vaxstation successfully but
the PC hangs whenever we "point" to the network drive using the
Utilities function in ELITE. DEC and Coulter gave us suggestions
for fixes that didn't work. Coulter thinks the problem may be
caused by the DOS extender built into ELITE called DOS/16M. Because
of contractual arangements, the manufacturer of DOS/16M will not
talk to either Coulter or us which leaves us scratching our heads
wondering what to try next. Any suggestions?
