EXPERIENCED FLOW CYTOMETRIST SEEKS NEW POSITION.

Flow Cytometry experience: nine years.

Includes:-

Instruments: FACStar-Plus, with two & three lasers (488nm., U.V.,
pumped dye); Ortho Cytofluorograph 50-H, with twin lasers; FACScan; FACSort;
FACScalibur (prototype); Coulter Epics, Profile & XL.

Data acquisition & analysis computers: Hewlett-Packard 340 (Lysis-II,
CellFit, Paint-a-gate, etc.) & 310 (Facscan Research, Consort-30, Lysis,
etc.); MS-DOS/Windows (WinList, WinMDI, ModFit, IsoContour, etc.); Mac
(ModFit, Mac-Cycle, Paint-a-gate-pro, etc.); VAX; Ortho 2151.

Cell flow-sorting: sterile bulk sorting & single cell cloning (using
Automatic Cell Deposition Unit).

Computer networking: Hewlett-Packard (FACSnet); MS-DOS/Windows/Mac/VAX
(WHPPC, Banyan Vines, Pine, Internet, World Wide Web, etc.).

Training & experience: research, application, development & tuition of
flow cytometry; Establishment, supervision, management & operation of
sophisticated major flow cytometry core facilities, including consultation,
liaision, scheduling & accounting, with direct involvement in many & diverse
research & clinical projects; Field testing of novel reagents & prototype
systems; Flow cytometric techniques, many & varied, especially
immunophenotyping (surface & cytoplasmic), DNA (cell-cycle, apoptosis,
ploidy, etc.), etc. & assorted combinations; Microbiological techniques,
including continuous chemostat culture & system design; Biochemical analyses;
Demonstration for practical classes & student tutorials; Help & supervision
of flow cytometer users, project students & technicians.

Qualifications: Ph.D. Microbiology (1984); B.Sc.(Hons.) Biological
Sciences (1978).
