We had a similar problem with the FACStar Plus and found that the
deflection plates were upside down!

Yes, the angle does make some difference, but the longer part of the
plates must be UP towards the nozzle.

We run with the left & right controls at Max and the streams are about
centre of each collection tube. (cannot make it go near the outer edge
of collection tubes)
