Epithelial Cell Harvest

As part of my Senior project I am infecting adherent epithelial(6 well plate)
cells with several pathogenic bacteria and looking for surface markers w\
FACS Calibur. I have been harvesting the infected cells by scraping.
I am concerned that this vigorous approach is detrimental to successful
detection of labeled antibody(ies). I have tried 2-5mm EDTA but lifting
of the cultured cells takes over an hour (not good). Can any one give me
suggestions on harvesting adherent cells (no trypsin) ????
Thanks (please e-mail me directly)
