ploidy analysis

We have just acquired Verity's version 1.0 Cell Cycle Analysis software,
Modfit LT. We want to simply look at whether or not a given fresh/cultured
tumor sample is anueploid or not. The problem is unlike the old B.D.
Cellfit program, there is no way of doing a comparison analysis using a
control/normal diploid standard or reference.??? I spoke to a Verity
person who claimed they were going to correct this in their
soon-to-be-released version 2.0. In the mean time, any suggestions on how I
should make my "comparisons"? Being no expert at this, the few papers I
pulled on the subject (Dressler, 1989 and Shankey..1993 Guidelines for DNA
Flow) give conflicting instructions on whether or not it is appropriate to
MIX aliquots of normal/diploid and unknowns, and run them simultaneously (
to generate 2 distinct G0-G1 peaks). Any help or referals would be
appreciated.
Thanks,
Arnold Mixon
