Hi Marc!
As a CAP inspector for Flow Cytometry and Diagnostic Immunology I can
tell you that what an inspector would look for is efforts on your
part to test your lab's ability to perform the procedure in question
and get correct and reproducible results. This could be accomplished
through blind testing of specimens with known results, exchange of
specimens with other laboratories, or some other equivalent
mechanism. As far as I know there is no external proficiency testing
program for platelet associated Ig. Perhaps through this forum we
could elicit a cooperative sharing of specimens for this purpose. I
certainly would be willing and interested. If anyone else is
interested let it be known through the list.
