MACQUARIE RESEARCH LTD.
Applications are sought for two positions to work on an R&D
project focusing on the development of flow cytometry for
the detection of specific microorganisms. The positions
will be based in Macquarie University Centre for Analytical
Biotechnology (MUCAB)in Sydney, Australia. MUCAB facilities
are well equipped with the latest instrumentation for monoclonal
production, flow cytometry and protein chemistry.

1 MONOCLONAL ANTIBODY PRODUCTION SPECIALIST.
Applicant should either have technical qualifications and/or
a degree in Biomedical Sciences.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS - tissue culture, production of monoclonal
antibodies, skills in the purification of monoclonal antibodies from
ascites fluid, handling laboratory animals.
DESIRABLE SKILLS - flow cytometry, handling pathogenic microorganisms.

2 PROTEIN CHEMIST.
It is likely that the successful applicant will have a degree or
technical qualifications in biochemistry.
REQUIRED SKILLS - Experience in protein purification using modern
instrumentation (BIOCAD,FPLC, SMART), protein chemistry.
DESIRABLE SKILLS - Experience with coupling fluorochromes to proteins,
experience with flow cytometry, handling pathogenic microorganisms.

Both positions are available for up to 3 years on a Salary of $30 -
$40,000, depending on experience. Opportunities exist for enrolment in a
higher degree for suitably qualified individuals. For further details
