SEM Module Speed Issues...

First of all, thanks to all who replied to my SEM Price inquiry... helped
me a good deal to negotiate a decent price here in France !!!

However, I'm starting to get worried because of the warnings concerning the
sorting-speed slow down while using the SEM. The official BDIS Sales info
here in Paris is that the speed reduction is less than 500 cells per
second, others told me that you can only sort with 1500 cells/s with high
purity...

So I would like to hear from those of you who actually use the SEM (Sort
enhancement module for non-rectangular gates) and what is their real life
experience...

I would also be interested to hear from the BDIS - US Sorting specialists
some more technical details and clarifications on the following questions:

- Is the speed reduction the same for the SEM on the VANTAGE as for a
FACStar Plus ?

- If one buys the HighSpeed Turbosort, is the SEM then obsolete or still
required ? (just to know if I better wait to get the money for the Turbo
sort directly)

- What about connecting a PowerMac to the FACStar Plus - I heard that one
can't connect the 7600 PowerMac PCI to the FACStar Plus, is this going to
be adressed...? What about the Quadra 650 Nubus ?

Thanks a lot in advance, if others are interested in this, I can post a
summary on the net...

Matthias
