Platelets activation -Reply

I asked our resident Platelet expert and his reply is as follows:
"Add Prostaglandin E-1 to the anticoagulant in the sample(not in
the patient, please) at 300 nM or higher concentration. This
should prevent and reverse platelet clumping."

REGARDING Platelets activation
Dear Fellow Cytometrists:
We are running a leukapheresis (LP) blood assays on the flow
cytometer and in some cases we encounter platelets activation
problems where we are unable to gate them out especially if
they cross link WBCs.
What are the different procedures to stop platelets from being
activated during handling?
