Hi there

Reply to Derek Davies and others

We use a Quadra 650 for acqusition/data analysis and a Centris 660 AV for
data analysis, each equipped with the MacOS 7.5.1. The only real problem
we have encountered (with CELLQuest 1.0) concerns data acquisition, where
the "Folder" button in "Parameter Description" is disabled, forcing all
data files into the CELLQuest folder. I don't think You'll encounter
problems, when doing data analysis only.

However, we find the MacOS 7.5.1 in many ways superior to System 7.1, and
do not intend to return to 7.1. It is therefore - in our opinion -
disappointing, that BD will not support it.

To maximize speed of data analysis with CELLQuest on a PowerMac, I have two
suggestions:

1. Use a level 2 cache of 256 K or more (I think this is bundled with most
Mac to PowerMac upgrades)
2. Try the Speed Doubler utillity from Connectix, which has been shown to
significantly increase emulation speed of 68x software on PowerMacs. Has
anyone tried this ?
